How I got started brewing: Having a science background, I have always been interested chemistry. I have always been interested in good craft beer as well. One day a friend who homebrewed pointed out to me that homebrewing was just a practical application of chemistry. It was at that point I got the bright idea to brew a beer a beer to serve at my upcoming wedding. My first batch was a 20-gallon, extract batch named “Royal Rooter IPA” and for my hop head friends, this was delicious. My love for homebrewing was born!
What I like most about being a member of CSI: I think the members of CSI are outstanding homebrewers and even better people to hang out with. When I was new to the club, I was warmly welcomed and accepted as a member from my first meeting forward. It was this friendly, open atmosphere that gave me the confidence to begin brewing all grain batches and trying new brewing techniques with confidence.
